Proven or Not, Sexual Assault Allegations Can Ruin One’s Reputation

We don’t know at this moment exactly what happened – if anything – behind the closed doors of famed entertainer Bill Cosby. We do know that many women have accused him of sexual assault. No charges have been filed and Cosby and his “people” are saying the allegations are “ridiculous.”

Cosby claims that if any of the reports were true, something – anything – would have surfaced over the span of the many years the assaults supposedly took place. However, his lawyers say, no reports whatsoever were made to police or any other entity.

All of that being said, and it’s certain there will be plenty more said for a long time to come, one thing is certain, Cosby’s reputation is already taking a beating. He resigned his position on the Temple University Board of Trustees, a position he has held for decades. TV Land pulled reruns of the very popular Cosby Show from its lineup. A new Cosby TV project is on hold.

No matter what happens with the sexual assault allegations, people won’t soon forget the rumors and innuendo. It’s possible that years of success as an entertainer of young and old will be forever tarnished.
